Breakdown first formed in Caracas, Venezuela in 2008 when 3 friends from Margarita Island decided to form a Metalcore cover band. Inspired by Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for My Valentine, the trio soon added a bass player. Although the line up has changed in the past couple of years, their dedication to cranking out stomping metal tunes has not wavered. In June of this year, Breakdown released “Surreal Life Demo.” They are presently working on more music for an upcoming 5-song EP.
The band was chosen by fellow Headliner.fm members Sum 41 out of hundreds of entries. As winners of Headliner’s Band of the Month Contest, they got a free shout out from Sum 41 on their Facebook, Twitter and Myspace profiles, exposing the band to millions of headbangers worldwide. Keen to music fans’ love for free tunes, they wisely used the opportunity to give away some music. Check the tweet and the download link below.
