Headliner.fm Tips: Convert Your Facebook Profile To a Facebook Page

Since most bands and artists on Facebook use Facebook pages, we designed Headliner.fm to connect to pages rather than personal accounts. This was fine for the majority of our users, but unfortunately artists who had personal accounts and no pages were caught in a bind. Sure, they could create a new Fan Page, but that account would start with 0 fans and they would be unable to leverage their existing fan base on Headliner.fm.

Luckily, that problem is now solved. Yesterday, Facebook released an update that allows users to convert their personal accounts into fan pages with a few clicks. More info here

  1. Facebook also probably wants as many people to be on Facebook as possible for advertising revenue of course ..Facebook explains .. Profiles represent individuals and must be held under an individual name while Pages allow an organization business celebrity or band to maintain a professional presence on Facebook…In addition Pages are managed by admins who have personal Facebook profiles. Pages are not separate Facebook accounts and do not have separate login information from your profile. People who choose to connect to your Page wont be able to see that you are the Page admin or have any access to your personal account. .You can see how Facebook is encouraging the fusion – NOT the separation – of Pages and Profiles.
