From the villages of West Africa to the orchestra halls of Western Europe, music is played in all kinds of arenas. But not all sound systems are created equal, and not all venues have good acoustics. How enjoyable a song is is strongly influenced by the venue it is performed in. The wit of a well written lyric means a lot more in a small, intimate venue than it does outdoors through muddy speakers.
