Many Twitter users manage their account through 3rd party applications like Tweet Deck, a program which provides Twitter tools created by a company that is not Twitter. Until now Twitter tolerated Tweet Deck, like a crocodile allows a bird to pick its teeth, but now Twitter is making a move on Tweet Decks territory. A couple days ago Twitter engineer Alex Payne Tweeted that Twitter users “might not want to use a desktop client” when they see Twitter’s new features. The statement comes as Twitter moves offer analytic tools for paying customers and mean a move against Tweet Deck to ensure more accurate data. More info here.
