The hardest part of making it in the music business is getting heard. Labels spend millions getting their artists’ albums and advertisements placed in strategic locations, and managers spend days and nights putting their bands in the right venues. Indie label Exit Stencil is taking a slightly different path to getting new exposure for their artists. For all of February, the label’s whole catalog is going at the cut rate of zero cents per download. The free promotional downloads have no limits; fans are free to take as many tracks as they want. Exit Stencil’s unconventional strategy may get their bands talked about, but will it make financial sense for a label to give away so much music for free publicity? Check out Exit Stencilhere.
